I'm a lighting designer based out of Pittsburgh, currently an MFA student at Carnegie Mellon University. I found my way backstage at Beloit and my passion for lighting design in Chicago.

If I'm not in a theater, I can usually be found biking around the city, in the backwoods hiking, or at the library checking out sci-fi books by the stack.

Artistic collaboration is at the center of what I love about being a lighting designer for live performance of theatre and dance. I see the job of a lighting designer as being a chameleon, adapting to the needs and visions of the director, choreographer, designers, and performers, all while bringing my own vision of the show to life. The lighting designer has the ability to bring structure, context, and mood to a piece of work with precisely timed shifts in lighting. I love the roadblocks and limitations that come up when I’m designing, that force me to reevaluate and try something new, to adapt the look that I’m seeking, and to do more with less.
